These Terms & Conditions explain what personal data Rent Smart Education and Support Society collects from you, through our interactions with you, any purchases you make, how we use and protect that data. We collect personal information from our customers and users in the regular course of providing services.

When you visit our website, we also collect:

● What pages you visit on our site and what links you click on
The main reasons we collect personal information from you are:
To provide access to RentSmart Online courses

To provide aggerate non-identifying data on the total number of unique individuals for reporting to funders
· If referred by BC Housing (not a mandatory field)
To complete a sale/transaction

2. Data Protection
When you register with us you will need to provide certain Data such as your contact details. This Data is hosted on Amazon Web Services at the Virginia data center in the United States. We will store this Data and use it to contact you, provide you with details of the Services you have purchased or requested and otherwise as required during the normal provision of the course.
We may also use the above Data, and similar Data you provide us in response to surveys, to aggregate user profiles. We will only contact you to ensure provision of the service you have requested. We will not pass any personal data onto anyone outside of Rent Smart Education and Support Society.
Only Data collected during registration will be stored on the Amazon Web Services. Data provided in-course will be stored locally on the user’s computer as encrypted session Data and will be inaccessible by Rent Smart Education and Support Society or any third party.
Rent Smart Education and Support Society endeavours to take all reasonable steps to protect your personal Data including the use of encryption technology but cannot guarantee the security of any Data you disclose. You accept the inherent security implications of being and transacting online over the internet and will not hold us responsible for any breach of security.
3. Verifying Your Certificate
You or anyone, such as prospective landlords or housing providers, whom you provide your RentSmart Certificate Unique ID number to may confirm your RentSmart graduation status using the service on our organizations website: https://rentsmarteducation.org/reports/certification-lookup-search/
This service only provides a valid/not valid response. No other personal information about you will be shared. Please note this database is updated weekly so small lags in status may occur.

4. Purchase & E-commerce
Some courses require purchase. As a charity, we endeavor to provide services without financial restriction unless cost recovery is required.
We use Stripe as a payment processor and transactions are subject to Stripe’s Terms & Conditions. All sales are considered final. For billing inquiries, please contact: nsupport@rentsmarteducation.org
5. Trusted Third-Party Access
Rent Smart Education and Support Society uses certain trusted third parties (for example, IT service providers) to help us provide, improve, protect, and promote our Services. These third parties will access your information only to perform tasks on our behalf in compliance with this Privacy Policy, and we’ll remain responsible for their handling of your information per our instructions.
We may share information as discussed above, but we won’t sell it to advertisers.

RentSmart and certain other brands, trademarks, and service marks are marks of Rent Smart Education and Support Society. The Materials on this Site are copyrighted, and any unauthorized use of any Materials on this Site may violate copyright, trademark, and other laws.
7. Online Course Content
We reserve the right to vary or withdraw any of the Courses described on the Website without notice.
We expect you to confirm that the Courses you are purchasing or accessing will meet your needs. We do not make any guarantee to you that you will obtain a particular result or professional qualification from your purchase or access and completion of any of the Courses.

Rent Smart Education and Support Society does not give any warranty or other assurance as to the operation, quality or functionality of the site. Access to the site may be interrupted, restricted or delayed for any reason.
Rent Smart Education and Support Society also does not give any warranty or other assurance as to the content of the material appearing on the site, its accuracy, completeness, timelessness or fitness for any particular purpose.

Rent Smart Education and Support Society agrees to notify users as soon as it becomes aware of any unintended access to the information you have shared with us. This includes physical files, and online personal information. Unintended access includes, but is not limited to, a password compromise or access by an unauthorized individual or automated system. Rent Smart Education and Support Society agrees to notify users within twenty-four (24) hours of the discovery of the actual or suspected unintended access.
